Diwali Greeting Video Scripts for Clinics, Salons, Gyms and Shops

Most local businesses know they should post something for Diwali. The hard part is knowing what to say once the camera is on. People freeze, ramble, or read a long message that nobody finishes watching.

A good greeting video is short: 15 to 30 seconds, one clear message, your face or your voice, and your business name. Dhanteras falls on Friday 6 November 2026 and Diwali on Sunday 8 November, so record this week and you will have your videos ready in time.

The simple structure

Every script below follows the same four beats:

  1. Greeting. "Namaste" or "Sat Sri Akal", and your name.
  2. Who you are. Your business name and what you do, in one line.
  3. A warm wish or a useful line. Something that fits your trade.
  4. A close. Your festive timings or a simple "see you soon".

Speak slowly. If a line feels unnatural in your mouth, change the words. Your own Hindi, Punjabi or Hinglish will always sound better than a stiff English sentence.

Script for a clinic or doctor

Namaste, I'm Dr. [Name] from [Clinic Name]. Wishing you and your family a very happy and healthy Diwali. Enjoy the sweets, but keep an eye on the sugar and the smoke, especially for elders and children. Our clinic will be closed on Diwali day and open as usual from [date]. Stay safe and celebrate well.

Keep health tips general. Don't promise cures or results in a greeting video.

Script for a salon or beauty parlour

Hi, this is [Name] from [Salon Name]. Diwali is almost here, and we'd love to help you look your best for the pujas and the family photos. Our festive timings are up on our Google profile, so book early. Happy Diwali from all of us!

Script for a gym or fitness studio

Happy Diwali from the team at [Gym Name]! Enjoy the mithai, enjoy the family time, and don't worry, we'll be here when you're ready to get back on track. We're closed on Diwali day and back from [date]. See you on the floor!

Script for a restaurant or sweet shop

Sat Sri Akal, I'm [Name] from [Restaurant Name]. Thank you for making us part of your celebrations this year. Our kitchen is open for orders right up to Diwali evening, and our festive timings are on Google. Wishing you a bright and delicious Diwali.

Script for a retail shop

Namaste, this is [Name] from [Shop Name] in [Area]. Thank you to every customer who has trusted us this year. We're open late through Dhanteras and Choti Diwali, so come and visit. Happy Diwali to you and your family.

Script for a coaching centre or tutor

Happy Diwali to all our students and parents from [Institute Name]. Enjoy the break, rest well, and spend time with family. Classes restart on [date]. We're proud of the hard work you've put in this year.

Recording tips that make a big difference

  • Light first. Stand facing a window or a bright light, not with it behind you.
  • Sound second. Record in a quiet corner. Switch off fans and music. Hold the phone close enough that your voice is clear.
  • Hold the phone upright for Instagram Reels, WhatsApp Status and YouTube Shorts.
  • Show your space. A decorated counter, diyas at the entrance or your team in the background tells people this is a real local business.
  • Do three takes and pick the best. Nobody gets it right the first time.

Don't want to be on camera?

That's fine. Many owners prefer a voiceover: a short festive video with your logo, your business name spoken clearly, and a greeting in a friendly voice. Customers still hear your name and see your brand, and you don't need to stand in front of a lens.

Where to post your video

  • WhatsApp Status and your broadcast list, a day before Dhanteras and again on Diwali morning.
  • Instagram Reels and Facebook.
  • Your Google Business Profile, as a video upload or alongside an update post with your festive timings.
One honest 20-second video from the owner often feels warmer than any designed poster.
