Before someone visits your clinic, salon, restaurant or shop, they look at your photos on Google. Clear, real, recent photos help them feel confident; dark, old or missing photos make them scroll to the next business.
Photos every profile should have
- Logo and cover photo: your logo, and one strong image that represents the business.
- Exterior: your shop front and signboard from the street, so people recognise it when they arrive. Add one from each direction if you're on a busy road.
- Interior: reception, waiting area, seating, treatment rooms or workspace.
- Team: you and your staff, smiling and in uniform if you have one.
- Your work: dishes, haircuts, finished projects, products on the shelf.
How often to add photos
Instead of uploading fifty photos once, add a few new ones every week or two. Regular new photos keep your profile looking active and give returning visitors something new to see.
Tips for better photos with just a phone
- Shoot in daylight, or with all the lights on.
- Clean the lens and hold the phone straight.
- Show real customers only with their permission.
- Skip heavy filters and text on top of the photo.
Mistakes to avoid
- Stock photos from the internet.
- Screenshots, flyers and posters uploaded as photos. Use posts for offers instead.
- Photos that show a location or interior that has since changed.
Watch your customer photos too
Customers can add photos to your profile. Check them regularly and report anything that is inappropriate or not your business.
In our GBP management plans, we use the product photos you upload in your dashboard for your daily posts, so your profile always has something fresh. Book a free demo to see how it works.
