Asking for a review is easy. Getting the customer to actually leave one is hard, because they have to search for your business, find the review button and remember to do it later. An NFC review card removes all of those steps.
What is NFC?
NFC (near field communication) is the same technology used for tap-to-pay. A tiny chip inside the card stores a link. When a customer holds a compatible phone close to the card, the phone reads the link and opens it, usually without any app.
How it works at your counter
- The customer is happy with your service.
- Your staff says, "If you liked it, tap your phone here to leave a quick review."
- The customer taps, and your Google review page opens.
- They choose the stars, write a line and post.
Which phones support it?
Most modern Android phones and iPhones (iPhone XS and newer) can read NFC tags. On some Android phones NFC must be switched on in settings. That is why every good NFC card also has a printed QR code, so customers with older phones can scan it with the camera instead.
Where to place it
- At the billing counter or reception desk
- On restaurant tables, as a table stand
- With your delivery staff
- In your clinic's waiting area or treatment room
Remember Google's review rules
Offer the card to every customer, not only the happy ones, and don't give discounts or gifts in exchange for reviews. Never let customers leave reviews from your own phone or tablet.
